Sustainable City Yiti – Oman

Sustainable City Yiti

Yiti Saltanat of Oman

This project involved providing fire and life safety consultancy services for The Sustainable City Yiti, a massive development in Oman. The primary objective was to perform a preliminary design review of the "Sustainable District" site plan and secure initial approval from the Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA). The scope also included a design review of the project's LPG system to ensure compliance with local and international fire and life safety standards.

Project Stages and Services

Aman International Engineering team provided a phased approach to address the project's fire and life safety requirements.

Preliminary Design Review (PDR) Services, this included:

  • A detailed review of the preliminary design drawings for life safety, fire protection, and fire alarm systems was conducted. This involved verifying compliance with NFPA and local GCC codes, including requirements for means of egress, fire department access, and the strategic placement of fire suppression and detection systems.
  • Specific design reviews were performed for the project's LPG system, ensuring its layout, piping, and safety features met all applicable standards for PACDA approval.
  • A complete preliminary design package, including all necessary documents and forms, was prepared and submitted to PACDA. This stage concluded with a meeting with PACDA officials to secure initial approval and stamping of the drawings.

Project Outcome

The project successfully completed the preliminary design review phase and secured initial approval from PACDA. By addressing all life safety, fire protection, and fire alarm system requirements at an early stage, including a specialized review of the LPG system, the project established a strong foundation for safe and compliant construction. This proactive approach streamlined the approval process and set a clear path forward for the development fire and life safety implementation.
