This project involved providing comprehensive fire and life safety consultancy services for the King Salman International Airport's "Project Runway." The scope included a wide array of critical assets, such as Terminal 6, the Iconic Terminal, a private aviation terminal, and the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). The primary objective was to ensure all fire and life safety designs complied with the latest Saudi Building Code (SBC) and NFPA Codes and Standards as adopted by the local Civil Defence (CD).

Aman International Engineering team delivered a multi-stage approach to ensure every aspect of the project's fire and life safety was thoroughly reviewed and aligned with regulatory requirements.
Developed Design Review (DDR) Services - RIBA Stage 03
- A thorough review of the Fire Safety Strategy Report was conducted to evaluate compliance with NFPA codes and SBC requirements.
- A preliminary design review of life safety plans, fire protection systems, and fire alarm systems was performed. This included checking designs for egress, fire department access, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and smoke management systems.
Technical Design Review (TDR) Services - RIBA Stage 04
- A detailed design review of all fire and life safety systems was performed to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
- This included verifying the designs for sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, and clean agent systems.
- Detailed layouts for fire alarm and detection systems, as well as ventilation and smoke management systems for spaces like enclosed car parks, were also reviewed.
Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) Approval
- The approved design package was provided to the Civil Defence for their review and information as part of their approval procedure.
- As a licensed fire consultant, the firm stamped the design package and arranged meetings with the Civil Defence to review submittals and design philosophies as needed.
