Jeddah South Container Terminal

Jeddah Saudi Arabia

This project involved providing preliminary design review services for the Jeddah South Container Terminal Upgrade. The primary objective was to ensure that all fire and life safety designs for this critical maritime infrastructure project were in full compliance with the latest Saudi Building Code (SBC) and NFPA Codes and Standards, as adopted by the Civil Defence (CD). The project required a collaborative effort between Aman and Martech to provide a comprehensive review of the design documentation.

Project Stages and Services

Aman International Engineering team provided a focused, multi-stage approach to review the project's fire and life safety designs.

Preliminary Design Review (PDR) Services

  • A detailed review was conducted of the provided life safety report and preliminary design drawings. The review encompassed all major systems, including fire protection, fire alarm, and life safety, ensuring they met the minimum requirements of all applicable codes.
  • A detailed comment sheet was prepared for the client, highlighting any non-compliant issues and referencing specific code standards to guide the necessary corrections.
  • The reviewed preliminary design package was then submitted to the Civil Defence (CD) for initial approval.

Project Outcome

The project successfully completed the preliminary design review phase, establishing a solid foundation for all fire and life safety systems. Our thorough analysis and clear recommendations ensured that the design was fully aligned with all regulatory requirements. This work was a crucial step in preparing the Jeddah South Container Terminal for its future development and upgrade, guaranteeing a safe and compliant facility.
