Diriyah Square

Riyadh Saudi Arabia

This project involved providing comprehensive fire and life safety consultancy services for DG198 Diriyah Square, a key component of a large-scale development in Riyadh. The primary objective was to ensure that the construction and installation of fire and life safety systems in the tunnels and basement areas complied with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and NFPA Codes and Standards and were on track to receive final approval from the local Civil Defence (CD).

Project Stages and Services

Aman International Engineering team delivered a focused approach to managing the construction administration and approval process.

Design Documentation and Material Review

  • A thorough shop drawing verification for all fire protection and detection systems, including sprinklers, standpipes, fire alarms, and emergency communication systems, was conducted.
  • Material submittals for life safety equipment and fire protection systems were reviewed to verify compliance with required standards.

Site Support and Verification

  • On-site visits were performed to make visual observations, ensuring that the installation of systems aligned with the approved drawings and designs.
  • All required testing and commissioning of the fire and life safety systems were witnessed to verify functional compliance with NFPA and Civil Defence requirements.

Final Approval and Documentation

  • A final acceptance letter and compliance report, stamped by a licensed fire consultant, were prepared and issued, certifying that the installed systems met all regulatory and design standards.
  • Final documentation was submitted to the Civil Defence to secure the final occupancy permit.

Project Outcome

The project successfully navigated the complex construction administration and approval process for DG198 Diriyah Square. Through continuous verification, on-site support, and rigorous testing, the implementation of robust and reliable fire and life safety systems was ensured.
