This project involved providing fire and life safety consultancy services for the Alujain PDH-PP-UTOS Project, a greenfield site located within the Yanbu Heavy Industry Area. The site is a large industrial facility with a total area of 250,000 square meters. The primary objective was to ensure compliance with the strict safety and fire protection standards of the High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS), as well as Saudi Building Codes (SBC) and NFPA codes.
Project Stages and Services
Aman International Engineering team provided a comprehensive, phased approach to the project, focusing on the following key stages:
Stage 2: Review of HCIS SAF Installation Contractor Package
- Peer Review: A peer review was conducted, and the fire protection installation package prepared by the contractor was endorsed. This included detailed design drawings, calculations, and technical submittals to ensure they were ready for construction.
- Comments Resolution: A detailed comments resolution sheet was compiled to address any deficiencies and ensure rapid correction.
Stage 3: Site Acceptance Testing and Completion Report
- Physical Inspection: Physical completeness and mechanical completion verifications were performed on-site to ensure the installation matched the approved shop drawings and method statements.
- Witnessing of Tests: Pre-commissioning and final acceptance tests for all fire protection systems were coordinated and witnessed.
- Final Report: A final testing and commissioning report, along with a completion endorsement letter, was issued to the HCIS for final approval.
Project Outcome
The project successfully navigated the complex regulatory environment of industrial safety in Saudi Arabia by adhering to HCIS, SBC, and NFPA standards. Through meticulous peer review, on-site inspections, and rigorous testing, we ensured that the fire and life safety systems were designed and installed to the highest standards, leading to successful completion and endorsement from HCIS.
