This project involved providing comprehensive fire and life safety consultancy services for the large-scale AMAALA PPP Project. The project consisted of multiple packages, including central infrastructure, water plants, and a staff village, totaling 58 buildings. The primary objective was to ensure all fire and life safety systems complied with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and NFPA Codes and Standards as adopted by the Civil Defence (CD).
Project Stages and Services
Aman International Engineering team's approach was structured into three distinct stages to manage the complexity and scale of the project.
Stage 1: Preliminary SAF FEED Package Preparation
- A Fire Protection and Life Safety Strategy was developed to define the required fire protection and detection systems, aligning with project specifications and HCIS SAF Directives.
- A Building Code Analysis and Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) was conducted to identify potential fire hazards and define the necessary fire protection and detection systems.
- Preliminary Design Drawings were prepared and were fully compliant with the HCIS SAF Industrial and non-industrial directives.
Stage 2: Review of HCIS SAF Installation Contractor Package
- A peer review of the contractor's installation package was performed, which included detailed design drawings, calculations, and technical material submissions.
- The team endorsed the package as the HCIS FP Consultant, certifying it for construction.
Stage 3: Site Acceptance Testing and Completion
- On-site physical completeness and mechanical completion verifications were performed to ensure the installation complied with approved drawings.
- Engineers coordinated and witnessed the pre-commissioning and final acceptance tests for each system.
- Upon successful completion, a final testing and commissioning report along with a Final Completion endorsement letter was issued to HCIS.
Project Outcome
The AMAALA PPP project successfully integrated robust fire and life safety systems across all 58 buildings, ensuring full compliance with stringent local and international standards. Our multi-stage process, from preliminary design to final site acceptance testing, ensured that the installed systems were effective and reliable. This comprehensive approach resulted in a secure project that met all safety requirements for the client and the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
